The role includes reviewing with project designers and contractors to ensure that procedures are followed and that contractors are in compliance with project plans and specifications.

Contract Administrators
UMA Engineering Ltd. is a large national engineering consulting firm seeking enthusiastic Contract Administrators to join our growing team of professionals. Working out of our Mississauga office, the initial assignment would be in western Canada for a period of several months. Reporting to the Senior Contract Administrator the candidates will deliver railway infrastructure projects, primarily grading & drainage contracts with some structural and/or track components.
 
The successful person(s) will participate in the preparation of the bid documents, cost estimating and evaluation of contractors and will administer and direct the construction phase. The role includes reviewing with project designers and contractors to ensure that procedures are followed and that contractors are in compliance with project plans and specifications.
 
Additional responsibilities include monitoring the quality of work done by contractors and the quality of materials used on-site and evaluating the progress of the project to determine if time schedules and payment requirements are being met.
 
You possess excellent technical writing and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and internal and external contractors. You have a keen desire to learn new skills, excellent teamwork attitude, and the flexibility to quickly absorb new information and take on new and challenging assignments. The ideal candidate must have basic computer skills, and be willing to conduct site visits throughout the GTA, Ontario or western Canada.
 
Additional Requirements include:
 
·          Expenses while working at job sites outside of the GTA will be reimbursed.
 
·          Previous railway experience and knowledge in the delivery of railway projects is an asset.
 
·          One to Ten years of experience or a recent graduate.
 
·          Diploma/Degree from a College or University would be an asset.
